Shri Vikash Chandra Rayal laid the foundation of B.D.M School in the year 2017 in Gular dogi village of Tehri Garhwal in the foothills of the Himalayas. It honors an extraordinary geographical site where the Ganga turns around and flows north towards its source. Gular-Dogi village has its cultural heritage and Garhwali tradition. People of this area are simple, innocent, and hard-working. Because of its hilly geographical area or rural environment, people are not aware about the quality eduaction and its importance. But, Shri Vikash Chandra Rayal who had studied at the government school in this area, can easily understand it. He doesn't want to see the children of the rural area facing problems in the future due to improper education. He also did a lot of struggles in his life and during his college life, he keeps thinking about, how to give quality education to the children of his village. Then he decided to open an English medium school in his village.
It is truly said that-"Be the change you want to see in the world". That is what Vikash Chandra rayal did. With his efforts, he opened a school in the two rooms of his house.
Along with that, he spread awareness in villages about quality education. People understand him and sent their children to his school. With the support of people and blessing of elders BDM school keeps reaching the heights of success still. Many peoples, social workers, Volunteers, founders of NGOs joined hands for this great work. Today more than 100 students are studying in school, which is a great thing in such an area.
